The Nautical-Son
Do I need to write anymore? Seriously, look at that title! My other title idea from Bailey was, "A Theological Cluster!" Now if you can turn that into a boat name somehow, I am all in!!!
Just a quick observation and tie to the training weekend(s).
The awareness of the cultural elements that inform the parable has uncovered a new set of questions, "Which leads to a new dimension of perception in parabolic understanding."
Extending love in humiliation? Is this possible? Bailey says, "The Father extends the same love (to the older son) in humiliation."
What does this look like for you and me today?
SUPER-ULTRA PACKET
"Humility is intoxicatingly attractive and greatly enhances one’s leadership effect. If you agree to lead, you agree to serve. You can gauge your heart of service by how you react when someone (like your 2 sons) actually treats you like a servant. How do you react when someone treats you with insults and disrespect? Do you choose to serve and honor that person or do you retaliate?"
“Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?” Brilliance is not possessing knowledge. Brilliance is dispensing knowledge in a simple, applicable, and easy to follow manner. The possession of knowledge is useless. The simple communication of knowledge is brilliance. The application of knowledge is a new heaven and a new earth. The force and power of applied knowledge is beyond imagination. A temptation/test exists for students of the bible to flaunt knowledge. The temptation occurs when the disciple desires for people to lust over the disciple’s ideas about God instead of falling in love with God. Please cloak your brilliant insights about Christ with modest simplicity. By expressing HIS thoughts modestly, GOD allows for YOU and others to connect with Him, the truth (Jesus.) Christ’s heart in you wants to connect to others through the words, ideas, tone, and expressions He inspires through you.
Just a cool observation and tie for me. The almighty, all powerful, all brilliant God humbles Himself in modesty to express His unbelievable love and through His wild humiliation and simple expression, allows me to connect with Him! I wouldn't have been able to comprehend His love if he hadn't (and continues to) present(ed) it so humbly and modestly!
Thank you Father for humiliating yourself for this lost son.
I hope your tracked with that! My brain is spinning in the light of His brilliance.

Totally tracking with you Reido! "Please cloak your brilliant insights about Christ with modest simplicity." What a tie to the robe that Father puts on the prodigal son....a sign of acceptance. We gets to display this acceptance to others through our modesty and connection with others, offering them to accept the cloak of their own.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Noice boat name!
